Wudu is the Arabic word for ablution, which is the ceremonial cleansing of oneself in preparation for prayer.  As written in The Book of Purification, Muhammad PBUH (peace be upon him)​ said "Cleanliness is half of faith..."

Wudu is necessary if one of the following has occurred:

• ONE

• TWO

• THREE

• FOUR

• FIVE

• SIX

*Note that if sexual discharge has occurred, Ghusul is required.*

The order of wudu is important; after Niyyah(intention) the order is as follows: hands, mouth, nose, face, arms, hair, ears, feet.
